Data-centre capacity intelligence
First commercial productMerer Capacity
Data-centre capacity intelligence.
Reconcile fragmented data-centre information and establish the real usable capacity position — what can be used safely, what is constraining the rest, what can be recovered and what it is worth.
Product
What Merer Capacity is
Merer Capacity is the first commercial product built on the Merer Reconciliation Engine.
It sits above the systems a data centre already uses and reconciles their different representations of capacity into one trusted operating position.
It does not replace those systems.
It determines what the infrastructure can actually support.
Challenge
The problem it addresses
- ·
Data centres hold different versions of capacity across engineering, operations, commissioning and digital systems.
- ·
Installed capacity is often confused with commissioned, provisioned or genuinely usable capacity.
- ·
Electrical, cooling, redundancy and operating constraints can trap apparently available capacity.
- ·
Operators can see individual systems without knowing where the next usable MW actually exists.
- ·
Capital may be committed before existing capacity has been fully understood or released.
Purpose
What it is for
Establish the real capacity position across a data centre or portfolio so operators can safely release stranded capacity, target the right interventions and make better operational and capital decisions.
Approach
How it works
- 01
INGEST: Bring together the information needed to understand capacity — DCIM, BMS, EPMS, UPS, PDU, CDU, cooling, workload, commissioning and asset information.
- 02
RECONCILE: Establish the real capacity position — separate design, installed, commissioned, provisioned, measured and genuinely usable capacity.
- 03
PRIORITISE: Identify what materially constrains capacity and where intervention creates value — constraints, recoverable MW, confidence, AI-ready capacity and economic value.
- 04
ACT: Support capacity-release decisions and interventions — approvals, re-provisioning, engineering intervention, capital decisions and verification of released capacity.
- 05
RETURN LOOP: Compare realised outcomes with the expected capacity release and improve the position over time.
